Most of dictionaries to download can be found individually and haphazardly, usually after hours of research. Their visibility on the Internet is variable, especially if owned by private individuals. Few websites offer an inventory, and sometimes even have a copy. These include, among others :
These sites were created by professionals of different backgrounds who share their experiences and ressources, because they are difficult to find, and their original version is more or less usable and reliable.

- Mono or bilingual.
- The number of words is often ridiculous (generally, dozens of thousands, especially in bilingual dictionaries).
- Bilingual dictionaries, in particular, offer word-for-word translation, no synonyms or proposition of different meanings.
- Often under proprietary format.
These dictionaries are unusable, most of the time, for translators or researchers. However, they are of little use for private individuals or IT professionals.
